AutoBarcode Command System

AutoBarcode Command System

AutoBarcode has a command system which can help you build complex instructions and allows better and more dynamic integration with Tasker. A command in AutoBarcode has the following structure: parameter1 parameter2 parameter3...=:=command text There are three parts to a command:
  • parameters, which are on the left side of the seperator. Use these when you want single word variables
  • =:=, the seperator
  • command text that is on the right side of the seperator. Use this when you want a multiple word variable
  • When you configure AutoBarcode in Tasker you can define what the parameter and command text variables are called. With this structure, you can issue all sorts of commands. Let's look at some examples:
    1) Simple Hello Command: say=:=Hello! parameters:
  • parameter1: say
  • command text: hello
    With this command you can, for instance, show a popup in Tasker (click here for instructions on how to configure in Tasker). Just set the popup text to the command text variable.
    You could also have Tasker say "Hello!" out loud if you wanted. It's totally up to you!
    2) Play song in Tasker, with a given volume, starting at x seconds and ending y seconds later, and show a popup with the name of the song Command: play hello.mp3 5 60 10=:=I'm now playing Hello! parameters:
  • parameter1: play
  • parameter2: hello.mp3
  • parameter3: 5
  • parameter4: 60
  • parameter5: 10
  • command text: I'm now playing Hello!
    With this command, you can instruct Tasker to instruct Tasker to play a song with specific parameters by setting all the parameters in the right places (song file, volume, start time, length). After that, show a popup with the command text, and you're done.
