What is Shadowcaster?

Shadowcaster is the collaborative work of different artists working in different mediums with the producer, artist and filmmaker known as Aleph.Null. It is the amalgamation of different artistic directions combined with a central focus on occultism, ritual magic and left hand path philosophy. Stage performances can sometimes be intense and possibly involve bodily fluids, nudity, or imagery which some may find offense.

We regard performance as a sacred art and sometimes months of preparation both meditatively, ritually and physically are needed. Songs are created specifically for each event and are typically not intended to be performed ever again. Custom tailored video is created for each event and can sometimes involve unusual means of production and presentation.

Our music is provided free of charge as often as possible. We offer hand made reprints of rare occult books for the cost of reproduction and binding at every event. This is the closest thing to "merchandising" you will find from us.


Each work is like a sand mandala. It only exists for the length of the event. Nothing remains but the recordings below.

This album consists of a single 22 minute long song which is meant to tell the entire story of the war between the greek gods. Also known as War of the Titans, a ten-year series of battles was fought in Thessaly between the two camps of deities long before the existence of mankind: the Titans, based on Mount Othrys, and the Olympians, who would come to reign on Mount Olympus. This Titanomachia is also known as the Battle of the Titans, Battle of Gods, or just The Titan War. 

It illustrates Zeus as a lightning swift justice bringer. In this archetype he fights against a vicious tyrant god. 

Tragically, once he conquers Cronus he becomes a tyrant himself illustrating how his particular brand of justice can so easily become the newest form of oppression.

This album/performance was based entirely on the dreams recorded by Zosimos of Panopolis in or around the year 300AD. It depicts subjects related to Alchemy in a particularly interesting light. Including what Carl Jung referred to as the first concept of the homunculus in alchemical literature. 

Like other works of Shadowcaster the performance associated to this was recorded as a short film and only performed once. Presented at the Denver Underground Film Festival in 2011 it received the award for "BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM". 

The performance included the insertion of hooks into a collaborator and his rope suspension from a semi-temporary structure which had to be designed and built inside of the building the performance was held in. 

Fire, sigils, interactive multimedia, strobes and a woman painted entirely bronze were all used to further convey the symbolism. 

Ultimately the entire performance was a part of the first illegal ritual in the United States since the banning of the Ghost Dance in the 1800's. The Reverend Steven Johnson Leyba hosted a "death curse" on the Monsanto corporation afterwards which violated the Food Libel Law as the second act of this enigmatic show. Thus, all performers involved faced the threat of felony for performing or speaking against genetically modified foods in one of 12 states which use this law to deter from such events.




Mysterium Umbris is my own personal attempt at recreating the concepts, goals and direction of my favorite composers work. THIS ALBUM TOOK 8 YEARS BETWEEN CONCEPT AND COMPLETION. 

Taking its name from the unfinished musical work by composer Alexander Scriabin it was intended to share the same goals... instilling change in the listeners and erradicating the past generation of humans they once were.

Scriabin began working on the composition in 1903, but it was incomplete at the time of his death in 1915. 
He planned that the work would be ENTIRELY synesthetic, exploiting the senses of smell sight and touch as well as hearing.

He wrote in describing his own work
"There will not be a single spectator. All will be participants. The work requires special people, special artists and a completely new culture. The cast of performers includes an orchestra, a large mixed choir, an instrument with visual effects, dancers, a procession, incense, and rhythmic textural articulation. The cathedral in which it will take place will not be of one single type of stone but will continually change with the atmosphere and motion of the Mysterium. This will be done with the aid of mists and lights, which will modify the architectural contours." 

Scriabin intended that the performance of this work, to be given in the foothills of the Himalayas in India, would last seven days and would be followed by the end of the world, with the human race replaced by "nobler beings". This peice was written in 7 parts with an 8th that was intentionally completed and then removed. It was performed along side poetry written in gematric configuration using patterns of 108 syllables, a 2800 lumen red strobe which flashed in time to the schuman resonance, special inscence and a fully sound reactive video to tell the story visually of each stage in the great work. It was reviewed in Denvers Westword Magazine who compared elements of it to Carmina Burana mixed with cEvin Key, Laibach, Frontline Assembyl and Darkwave IDM.

Written and performed as a concept centered entirely around the idea of mixing the musicians personal dream work on the archetype of Leviathan with reality. Elements were taken directly from the primary artists dreams and incorporated into the songs themselves as themes and supporting elements. Ideas and images taken from the Goetia and several forms of european ancestor worship also weighed heavily in the artists work as well. 

It was performed only once while a collaborator read screaming into the crowd from Andrew Chumbley's Qutub. Littering the room with parchment paper covered in sigils and eventually taking a semi-toxic drink as a part of the ritual he then meditated silently as the procession built to a blaringly loud point and then ceased in a moment intended to recreate a climax similar to a sexual one. All sigils were then burned or otherwise eradicated.

Parchment paper which held a thematic sigil and a splatterd red handprint from my left hand were passed out prior to the ritual they were involved in. Any crowd members included in our performance were given special privledges and in return for their energy temporarily we gave them free access to a secretly accessible online library/ resource site which was filled with rare books and continues to be maintained to this day.

A Single written as a half joking and half serious project, this remix was intended to poke fun at the band AWOL Nation as they attempted to capitalize on the conspiracy/illuminati bandwagon. No harm intended just a bit of satire.
