I am a PhD student at Northwestern University. My research concentrates on the formation of political preferences and public opinion in the context of American politics. In particular, I focus on the role of motivation, affect, and mass media and communications. My current work focuses on motivated reasoning and debate evaluations, political open-mindedness, and deception in experiments.
