Jim Neal’s World

Take Stock, buy materials, build stock units, add contours.  A litany of the beginning process of set construction for any show.  Sequential steps are significant.  Looking at what you have already done prevents you from rebuilding it a second time.  No one likes to spend time reinventing the wheel.

It’s been a busy 8 years since I began this webpage in 2003. At that time, I was beginning the process of learning to live in retirement, becoming a grand parent, and starting a new phase of my life.  I thought developing a site to take stock of the significant things in my life and see just exactly where I stood sounded like a good idea.

My world has changed significantly in the past 8 years. I recently became a grandfather three times over. My middle daughter, Becky, had her first baby on June 17th giving birth to Mallory Paige. My son, Pearce Wood, also has two wonderful daughters, Kate and Norah. So that makes three glorious additions to my family in the past year.

This year marks my 63rd year on the earth.  Is the world better for my being here?  I hope that everyone has moments when they reflect on this question.  Not that we as individuals can change the world but that we each in our own small way make a mark.  A mark which will reflect our efforts to fight the good fight.

My thoughts here should not be taken as my holding myself up as any kind of an example for others, but simply one man’s humble struggle to daily follow the path of right “as I am given the eyes to see the right”.  If this is the result of my religious decisions, my catholic faith, my Christianity, my humanity, lessons learned in life, or any of the many winds that blow each of us hither and yon, it is what it is.

A life, lived in the resonance of many voices, aimed at truth.
