Our focus

We are faculty members at the University of Lethbridge, in Alberta, Canada. We also hold  positions at the University of South Africa (SPH) and the Medical School of the University of the Witwatersrand (LB), and several participants in lab activities are based either there or with collaborators in Calgary and Aberdeen. At the centre of our research interests is a broad concern with the ecology of social life and cognition. The objects of our attention are both free-ranging monkeys (vervets and baboons) and humans. Our current research is funded by NSERC (Canada) and NRF (South Africa) grants, as well as by a wide range of awards to our collaborators and students.

Almost all our projects are collaborative. We welcome enquiries about possible joint ventures, as well as from potential students and those who are interested in gaining field experience. Our contact details are:
