Mangoes

Mangoes, juicy and ripe.
I bite through the
wet flesh, noticing
that you read
this poem first, thinking
it is about sex.
But it is about mangoes.
I like mangoes, except
the bit near the stone
because it's really fibrous
and bits get stuck
between my teeth, but
I do like mangoes.
I like sex too, but
this poem is
about mangoes.
