-------------------------------------------------- Guidelines for application on Dark Side of the Kingdom: -------------------------------------------------- > Use Lunar Magic 2.10+ to avoid glitches. > No Kaizo levels will be accepted. > All patches must follow xkas standards. > All sprites must be inserted with Romi's Spritetool. > Custom blocks? BTSD (BlockTool Super Deluxe). If/When inserting them, use Map16 Page 0x03 for the behaviors/generic blocks and use other page else for level tiles. > Custom music/SFX? HFD's AddMusic 4.05. Songs must be unsampled. If you don't use any custom music/SFX, we'll insert a custom composition later. > Thinking about custom GFX? Use them wisely. We want the hack to keep the SMW feel, so don't use fancy/unfitting/evasive tilesets. > In general, the hack is supposed to be Choconilla. No external resources abuse, then. > You may only claim one level/submap and one composition at a time. > Don't use loads of Map16 pages, GFX slots, songs, custom blocks, custom sprites, or LevelASM codes for just a level. Feel free to borrow resources from other levels where they fit. > You absolutely MUST USE THE DEFAULT SMW Midway Points, and avoid making extremely long levels (a level taking about 400 seconds is reasonable, 600 is where it starts pushing it, 900 is ridiculous). Also, Yoshi Coins are not needed, but will be inserted later. > Show off your work and be active. Users with unfinished, unveiled work will be questioned on the state of their level; ignoring these petitions will result in the resource being revoked. Egadd is the head of this hack, it'll be mainly his decision that will write the fate of your work. > Done with your level/submap? Post your IPS in the hack thread. If you have used external resources, make a ZIP and post them, too. For example, if you used LevelASM codes and custom sprites, ZIP your LevelASM resources and the sprites together with your IPS. > Want to do something instead of a level/submap - either draw a tileset, compose a song, or program a sprite? Warn us by posting in the hack thread. Say what you'll do. If you don't let any warning, your stuff is highly subject to be denied (not that it'll be, but chances are indeed higher). > Want to help with less substantial (but not less important!) things like cutscenes and storyline? Don't hesitate on posting your ideas. > Avoid making requests! Workaround instead. Be creative. (However, we do have people who offered small request services. Feel free to talk to them, but don't be silly.) > Has the hack progressed, and you want to submit an update of whatever you did? Feel free! Also, if your level has been edited during an update, please talk to Egadd about changing it. > Do you have any general ideas or have questions about the hack? Make a post - we don't bite. > Interested on playtesting the hack? Feel free to get the Base ROM, test it and point out all issues you may have found. > Clarifying it again, DON'T USE the following tools: AddMusicM, AddMusicK, Asar, LevelASMTool, Tessera, or any version of Lunar Magic before 2.10. Due to having other plans, this should be done in order to avoid major problems and conflicts. > Anything inserted into ROM is subject to be edited in the final version. -------------------------------------------------- Guess everything was said. Shall we dance?
